In a significant move to enhance its digital gaming offerings, MGM Resorts has announced a partnership with Playtech to create a live casino experience that will be streamed directly from the iconic MGM Grand and Bellagio properties in Las Vegas. This collaboration aims to provide players with an authentic Las Vegas experience while expanding MGM’s reach into regulated markets outside of the United States.
Launch of MGM Live Games
The new MGM Live games will include popular options such as single and double-zero roulette and baccarat, as stated by Playtech. Currently, the games are set to launch in targeted international markets, with Mexico and the UK being the initial focal points. Playtech COO Shimon Akad highlighted that further rollouts in additional regulated markets will follow as part of their strategic plan.
Akad emphasized the company’s commitment to reviewing the feasibility of offering these live games in the US in accordance with evolving igaming regulations. “The Las Vegas experience has always been the most unique gaming experience in our industry,” he stated. He assured potential players that they would relish not only the authentic sounds and visuals of Vegas but also immersive entertainment experiences in the future.

MGM Resorts’ Chief Executive Officer Bill Hornbuckle underscored the distinctive value their live casino product brings to the gaming industry. This follows the company’s recent acquisition of LeoVegas for $604 million, which has allowed them to launch BetMGM in the UK and target markets where it currently lacks a land-based presence.
Hornbuckle noted that diversifying into the digital realm is essential for engaging customers globally. “Through BetMGM and our budding relationship with LeoVegas—across Europe, Canada, and South America—we aim to diversify into digital, reaching customers 365 days a year,” he stated.
He also hinted at future plans that would tie together online and brick-and-mortar gaming opportunities, adding that the acquisition of games studio Push Gaming aligns with this vision. “The idea that we could create our own games is really important, both to feed our digital assets and our brick-and-mortar venues, ultimately tying them all together,” Hornbuckle concluded.
