Experience the Vegas Magic: MGM Resorts Teams Up with Playtech for Revolutionary Live Casino Offering!
MGM Resorts Partners with Playtech for Live Casino Streaming from Las Vegas
In a significant collaboration that merges traditional gaming with innovative technology, MGM Resorts has announced a partnership with Playtech to launch an exciting live casino offering. This new service will stream live games directly from the iconic MGM Grand and Bellagio properties in Las Vegas, catering to players in regulated markets around the world.
Launching MGM Live
The new MGM Live platform will feature popular games such as single and double-zero roulette and baccarat. Playtech, a leader in online gaming and software development, has confirmed that these offerings will initially target markets outside of the United States, specifically focusing on Mexico and the United Kingdom. As the partnership progresses, both companies plan to expand into additional regulated markets.
Speaking with iGaming Business, Playtech’s Chief Operating Officer Shimon Akad commented on the possibility of offering MGM Live within the U.S. in the future, stating, ‘We will review the feasibility of offering this in the US over time and in line with igaming regulation.’ He emphasized the unique experience of Las Vegas gaming, explaining that customers in regulated markets will be treated to the authentic sounds and visuals synonymous with the Las Vegas experience.
A Combination of Expertise and Prestige
MGM Resorts’ CEO Bill Hornbuckle highlighted the unmatched gaming experience that the new live dealer product aims to provide. ‘The content, celebrity talent, and sophisticated gaming experience will be unmatched in the industry,’ he noted. He characterized the partnership with Playtech as a strategic move to position MGM Resorts as ‘the world’s premier gaming entertainment company.’
Playtech’s CEO Mor Weizer expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with a prominent brand like MGM Resorts. He stated, ‘This collaboration amplifies our commitment to providing unparalleled experiences and expands our global reach to our customers.’ Weizer underscored the synergy between MGM’s global prestige and Playtech’s extensive market knowledge.
Expanding the Offering
The MGM Live platform is set to expand its offerings beyond standard casino games. Playtech has plans to introduce a diverse range of exclusive games, including branded TV game shows and celebrity-hosted trivia contests. Akad noted, ‘If you think of the Vegas attraction and picture one of the world’s most popular game shows, infused with the allure and the charisma of celebrity hosts, that’s what we are creating for the players,’ indicating that these developments are already underway.
MGM Resorts’ Omnichannel Vision
The partnership aligns with MGM Resorts’ broader strategic ambitions to create a comprehensive omnichannel ecosystem, particularly in Europe and other international markets. This vision was recently reinforced by the company’s $604 million acquisition of LeoVegas and the subsequent launch of BetMGM in the UK. CEO Bill Hornbuckle pointed out that diversifying into digital platforms allows MGM Resorts to engage with a global audience more effectively.
Hornbuckle explained, ‘Through BetMGM, both domestically and ultimately through what we do with LeoVegas – whether that’s in Europe, Canada, or South America – we want to diversify into digital. We think it’s a meaningful way to continue to reach customers 365 days a year.’ He hinted at future plans to integrate online and brick-and-mortar gaming experiences, leveraging the capabilities of the games studio Push Gaming, which was acquired as part of the LeoVegas deal.
The MGM Live venture, intertwined with MGM Resorts’ omnichannel ambitions, represents a bold step into the future of gaming, promising to provide players with an unparalleled experience that combines the excitement of Las Vegas with the convenience of online play.
