Grand Lisboa Unveils Innovative Live Multi-Game Stadium: A New Era for Macau Gaming

Macau, December 18, 2024 – The Grand Lisboa, a flagship casino hotel on the Macau peninsula operated by SJM Holdings Ltd, has officially launched its first-ever live multi-game (LMG) stadium. The new gaming venue, located on the U2 floor of the complex, was unveiled Wednesday, featuring over 60 terminals dedicated to an interactive gaming experience.

A Unique Gaming Experience

The LMG stadium at Grand Lisboa is the only gaming product currently available on the U2 floor, with other areas of the floor occupied by a shuttered restaurant. This innovative addition marks a milestone for the Grand Lisboa, which has not previously featured this kind of gaming technology on its premises. Other types of electronic gaming machines are available across different floors of the casino, indicating a diversification of gaming options for visitors.

As of its launch, the LMG stadium offers players the chance to engage in baccarat with a minimum bet of HKD 20 (approximately US$2.57). This baccarat game also includes the recently introduced “Small 6/Big 6” side bet, providing an additional layer of excitement for players who enjoy traditional casino games.

Sign of Growth in the LMG Market

LT Game Ltd, the supplier of the LMG system, confirmed the operational launch of the stadium at Grand Lisboa. Alongside this new installation, additional LMG terminals commenced operations at the Jai Alai gaming venue, also promoted by SJM Holdings and located near the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal. This expansion of LMG terminals across Macau reflects the growing significance of live multi-game systems in the region’s gaming industry.

Leo Chan, the chief financial officer of Paradise Entertainment Ltd, which is the parent company of LT Game, commented on the importance of LMGs in the gaming market. He noted that LMG play has been not only generating significant revenue for the casinos but increasingly contributing to Macau’s overall gaming revenue.

Impressive Growth Figures

According to data from Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, gross gaming revenue (GGR) from the LMG segment for the first nine months of 2024 amounted to MOP 3.16 billion (approximately US$395.1 million). This figure represents a remarkable 9.3 percent increase from the nearly MOP 2.90 billion reported for the entire year of 2023. Furthermore, the GGR generated from LMGs during this period marks an 11.4 percent increase from the MOP 2.84 billion recorded in full-year 2019, underscoring the segment’s rapid growth.

Conclusion

The launch of the live multi-game stadium at the Grand Lisboa is a significant development for both the casino and the broader gaming market in Macau. As demand for innovative gaming experiences continues to rise, establishments like Grand Lisboa and Jai Alai are likely to play a crucial role in shaping the future of entertainment in the region. This milestone not only enhances the visitor experience but also showcases the evolving landscape of the gaming industry in Macau.
