Wazdan’s Dynamic Expansion: Now Licensed to Thrill in Denmark’s Robust Gaming Market

As 2024 comes to a close, Wazdan, a prominent player in the online gaming industry, has announced its recent expansion into the Danish market. The company took to LinkedIn to announce that it has been granted a license by the Danish Gambling Authority, Spillemyndigheden, allowing it to bring its extensive portfolio of games to Denmark.

Currently, Denmark boasts 44 licensed gaming firms, which includes well-known operators such as Betsson, 888, and Betfair. The entry into this regulated market signals a significant milestone for Wazdan, as it aims to strengthen its presence in Europe.

Commitment to Transparency and Partnerships

In its announcement, Wazdan emphasized its dedication to collaborating with major casino licensors to ensure secure and transparent operations in the gaming sector. “Wazdan will now be able to deliver its full suite of games to licensed gaming operators active in the Danish market,” the statement read.

“We’re proud to announce that our games are now fully licensed by Spillemyndigheden, bringing the true value of online gaming to Denmark. What a way to finish off this rewarding year,” the company added, highlighting its achievements.

A Year of Growth and Expansion

The license in Denmark caps off a highly productive year for Wazdan. Michał Imiołek, the CEO of Wazdan, shared insights into the company’s impressive progress during an interview with CasinoBeats shortly before Christmas. He revealed that the company had launched 26 new game titles and completed 700 integrations throughout the year.

“Wazdan has continued to gain ground throughout 2024, solidifying our market position in already established territories as well as the commencing of new ventures,” Imiołek stated. “We are proud to have entered four new markets, including Croatia, via one of the nation’s leading operators, PSK, while also debuting in the Philippines with SG8.”

Further expanding its footprint, Wazdan entered the Pennsylvania market in September, complementing its existing presence in states like New Jersey, Michigan, and West Virginia.

Navigating a Competitive Market

With the new license from Spillemyndigheden, Wazdan is poised to navigate the competitive landscape of the Danish gaming market. According to Spillemyndigheden, overall gambling expenditure reported in Denmark reached DKK 553 million (approximately €74.2 million) in September 2024, although this represented a slight decline compared to the previous year.

As Wazdan prepares to leverage its new license, industry watchers will be keen to see how the company fares in this dynamic market and what further innovations it might introduce in the future. With a focus on building rewarding partnerships and enhancing player experiences, Wazdan is poised for a promising 2025.
